以精密超精密機床技術的研發為主要任務，以提高加工精度、表面質量和產品結構創新為主要目標，以精密超精密加工機理、機床設計、加工工藝、功能部件、檢測、制造環境以及成套工程等技術為主要研究內容，持續地開展基礎共技術研究和成果的工程化研究，建設一流的工程化試驗條件，形成我國精密超精密制造技術研發和產業化基地。

 To research and develop precision & ultra precision machinery technology as the main task. To improve the processing accuracy, suce quality and product structure innovation as the main aim, Researching the precision & ultra precision machining mechanism, machine tool design, processing technology, functional components, testing, manufacturing environment and complete sets of engineering and technology as the main content. The continual development of the basic, universal technology research and the production of engineering research and construction of first-class engineering test conditions and the formation of Chinese precision & ultra precision manufacturing technology research, development and industrialization base.
